(Alce Nero)

Every sunrise is a sacred symbol. Yes, because every day is sacred, when our Father Wakan-Tanka sends us the light.

The forest is home to many birds and many animals, water is the abode of various fishes and reptiles. Within a species the birds are not all alike and so it is with animals and with humans. The reason Wakan Tanka did ten birds, ten animals or ten human beings exactly alike was that he wanted each of them could have its own space, could be enough in itself without occupying the space of others. Since childhood I have watched very carefully leaves the trees and the grass and I've never seen two specimens exactly alike. Of course, may resemble much, however nell'esaminarli carefully I have found that differ significantly between them.

(Canto Apache)

The medicine

Wind is my medicine
that sweeps away the stones from my mind.
The rain is my medicine
washing my tired bones.
My horse is my medicine,
and when I ride
the rhythm of her footsteps
I in turn

(Apache Song)
Preghiera al Risveglio

Svegliati! Svegliati!
La terra ti sorride.
Svegliati, e sta' pronto
al giorno che comincia.
La madre della vita
ti sta chiamando,
ti saluta,
dunque svegliati,
non indugiare più.
Potente Sole,
dacci la luce
perch ci guidi,
perch ci aiuti.
Guarda come sorge,
guarda come la terra ne risplende,
e come gode lo spirito nel petto,
ascoltando la musica del Sole.
Svegliati! Svegliati!
La terra ti sorride.
Svegliati, e sta' pronto
al giorno che comincia.
La madre della vita
ti sta chiamando,
ti saluta,
e allora... forza,
Svegliati!

(Canto Apache)

Prayer to Awakening

Wake up! Wake up!
The earth smiles.
Wake up, and is' ready
the day begins.
The mother's life
is calling you,
greets you,
So wake up,
do not wait anymore.
Powerful Sun
Give us the light
to guide us,
to help us.
Watch as it rises,
See how it shines the earth,
and how to enjoy the spirit in the breast,
listening to the music of the Sun
Wake up! Wake up!
The earth smiles.
Wake up, and is' ready
the day begins.
The mother's life
is calling you,
greets you,
and then ... strength,
Wake up!

(Apache Song)
Stelle nel cielo

Guardale mentre sorgono
sopra la linea d' incontro
tra cielo e terra.
Nella vostra ascesa, o Stelle,
fateci da guida, siateci maestre:
insegnateci a essere,
come voi,
unite.

(Canto Apache)

Stars in the sky

Watch them arise
above the line 's meeting
between heaven and earth.
In your ascent, or Stars,
let us guide, siateci teachers:
teach us to be,
like you,
together.

(Apache Song)
Preghiera per benedire un Bambino

Grande Spirito,
Sfioralo con il Tuo Respiro!
Sfioralo con il Tuo Respiro!
Tu che gli hai donato la vita.
Donagli una lunga vita.
Per questo Ti preghiamo, Padre!

(Canto Pawnee)

Prayer to bless a Child

Great Spirit,
Sfioralo with Your Breath!
Sfioralo with Your Breath!
You who have given their lives.
Give him a long life.
For this we pray, Father!

(Pawnee Song)
Lunga vita

(Canto Navajo)

Long life

In the house I walk the long life
I walk in the house of happiness
Beauty is before me I walk with her
Beauty is below me I walk with her
Beauty is above me I walk with her
beauty is all around me I walk with her
the journey of my old age I walk with her
I walk and run wild with her

(Navajo Song)
